  1.      This is version 4.2 of the Power Scanner program.  New features
  2. for this programs are contained in chapter 10.0 of the users manual.

  4.      Chapter 11.0 contains information for Power Scanner licensing and
  5. the last two pages in the users manual contain forms for a user/site
  6. license.

  8. The following files make up the distribution files for Power Scanner Version 4.2
  9.  
  10.      1) readme.1st    -------> This File
  11.      2) strip.doc     -------> Strip For Top Of Keyboard
  12.      3) ps.exe        -------> PS Program
  13.      4) ps_stand.exe  -------> Supplement Program For Power Scanner
  14.      5) ps_help.exe   -------> Extended Help Program
  15.      6) ps_users.doc  -------> PS Users Manual
  16.      7) ps.pif        -------> Windows Interface File
  17.      8) ps.ico        -------> Windows ICON for Power Scanner
  18.      9) ps_setup.exe  -------> Modify AUTOEXEC.BAT to set up the path
  19.                                and environment variable for Power Scanner
  20.                                (Before any modifications are made to the
  21.                                 AUTOEXEC.BAT file, a copy will be saved as
  22.                                 AUTOEXEC.OLD in the root directory.  If
  23.                                 AUTOEXEC.BAT does not exists then this
  24.                                 program will create one for you.)

  39. Users with versions of Power Scanner prior to version 4.1 must delete the
  40. following files:
  41. - ps_std.def
  42. - ps_pro.def
  43. - ps_gbl.def
  44. - ps_X_dir.log {Where X Is A Logged Drive}
  45.  
  46. 1) Create a directory on the disk where Power Scanner is to be installed
  47.    (ie: md c:\ps)
  48.  
  49. 2) Copy all Power Scanner files to the directory created above
  50.    (ie: copy *.* c:\ps)
  51.  
  52. 3) Modify AUTOEXEC.BAT with PS environment variable and update PATH
  53.    (ie: ps_setup c:\ps)
  54.  
  55. 4) Re-Boot System
  56.    (ie: Ctl-Alt-Del)
  57.  
  58. 5) Enter PS at DOS prompt after Re-Boot
  59.    (ie: PS)
